In anticipation of cut flowers & fresh veg – and in an attempt to stay tidy – I chose this galvanised metal trug as a birthday present earlier this year. With spring finally upon us I’ve been able to put it to use with sowing seeds, tying in plants and general garden faffery. Its so useful for keeping all my bits and pieces together like my secateurs, scissors, seeds and other odds and ends.

I’ve made a little linen bag to keep all my seed packets together, they were starting to get messy and in a little house, keeping organised is so important. I recycled an old linen blouse that I’d fallen out of love with and after a few stitches it was done. I’ve also re-used an old Daylesford jam jar to hold odd pieces of string and wooden plant labels.

Its little projects like these that have helped keep me busy during these strange and uncertain times and its surprising how much is achievable with just a few resources you already have at home.
